Firefighters battled a fire at a residential structure Saturday afternoon near the oceanfront in Duck.
Crews were called to the Bayberry Bluffs neighborhood at 4:58 p.m. for the blaze that was in an area north of Duck village.
While firefighters were having to deal with a heat index of above 100, wind speeds were reported to be only around 10 mph out of the west at the time of the fire.
