Two scholarship application information sessions hosted by the Outer Banks Community Foundation will be held at the Dare County Library’s Manteo and Kill Devil Hills branches to provide local students and their parents with the information needed to compete for the Outer Banks Community Foundation’s available 2023 scholarships.
The two scholarship application information sessions will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Manteo Library and on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kill Devil Hills Library.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to meet with Outer Banks Community Foundation staff members, receive information relative to the nonprofit organization’s scholarship opportunities and get answers to any questions they may have.
A representative from College of The Albemarle (COA) will also attend the sessions and provide information about the Dare Guarantee Scholarship. Each year, the Dare County Board of Commissioners provides $250,000 in funding for the Dare Guarantee Scholarship, which gives local students an opportunity to attend COA’s Dare County campus in Manteo with no out-of-pocket costs for tuition and fees. Students can apply online for Outer Banks Community Foundation scholarships during the four-week period that opens on February 6, 2023 and closes at midnight on March 6, 2023. The Outer Banks Community Foundation anticipates total scholarship awards to be approximately $200,000 in 2023.
