J. J. Twiford, manager of Twiford Funeral Homes, is pleased to announce that the North Carolina Board of Funeral Service granted June Hess a Funeral Director License on August 17, 2022. June joined Twiford Funeral Home staff on April 3, 2019 to pursue becoming a licensed funeral director.
In order to be a licensed funeral director in North Carolina, the North Carolina Board of Funeral Service requires that an applicant be of good moral character and reputation, possess a diploma in mortuary science or have graduated from a program approved by the Board and accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education, pass the board exams within the last three years, and successfully complete a minimum of twelve months as a supervised apprentice.
During the required apprenticeship, resident trainees must complete a minimum of twenty-five (25) funeral arrangement cases and twenty-five (25) ceremony and disposition cases.
June successfully completed these requirements and was granted her Funeral Director License. Twiford’s is honored to have Hess on their staff.
