The Dare County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following property crimes last month:
February 7, 2023
Burglary. 100 block of Bideford Street, Roanoke Island. Subject reported various household
items stolen during the night. Upon further investigation the crime was determined to be
unfounded.
February 9, 2023
Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 1000 block of Driftwood Drive, Roanoke Island. Wallet
reported stolen from unlocked vehicle. Subject later discovered the wallet was not stolen. No
crime occurred.
February 9, 2023
Breaking and Entering. 100 block of Amelia Drive. Residence broken into. Forensic evidence
collected. Under investigation.
February 10, 2023
Larceny. 47000 block of Delmer Road, Buxton. Money stolen from residence. Under
Investigation.
February 13, 2023
Larceny. 100 block of Scuppernong Road, Roanoke Island. Unauthorized transactions from an
account. Under investigation.
February 13, 2023
Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 5000 block of Old Ferry Dock Road, Manns Harbor.
Computer scam. Under investigation.
February 17, 2023
Financial Card Fraud. 47000 block of Bernice Lane, Buxton. Unauthorized transactions on
subjects EBT card.
February 24, 2023
Larceny of Motor Vehicle. 100 block of Tillett Road, Wanchese. Subject reported their vehicle
stolen after it was found wrecked in Tyrrell County.
