There is increasing confidence that strong S to SW winds ahead of a cold front will bring at least minor impacts to the region on Saturday through Sunday night, says the National Weather Service Morehead City.
Strong south to southwest winds will develop ahead of an approaching cold front Saturday, bringing several coastal hazards. A few strong to severe storms are possible as well.
According to the report issued Wednesday, increasing southerly swell will bring large surf and beach erosion to beaches south of Cape Hatteras. Water level rises are also possible along the northern Pamlico Sound, and near inlets west of Cape Lookout.
