On April 6, 2023, Dare County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division was contacted by the District Attorney’s Office regarding some information they had obtained on a case.
The information was passed along and it was determined that Nicole Manning, 40, of Stumpy Point, NC, had embezzled money from the Stumpy Point Fire Department on several occasions.
DCSO CID obtained warrants for her arrest and she was arrested at her place of work without incident. Manning was charged with 3 counts of (F) Embezzlement and placed under a $300,000 secured bond.
