The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island is thrilled to offer Backyard Buzz: Unseen Wonders Magnified, an outdoor animatronic display of larger-than-life bugs! Opening in July, this exhibit is included in admission and is located along our nature trail.

Guests will learn about North Carolina species and how to support and protect the wild spaces they call home. The jumbo bees, beetles, caterpillars, and friends offer photo opportunities and interactive play areas.

Running through October, the exhibit is located among other outdoor spaces that reveal facts about pollinators, native plant species, and unique ecosystems. Don’t miss the carnivorous plant garden or the trails that meander through the native pollinator garden and the maritime forest.
