The Currituck County Chamber of Commerce has issued a statement claiming that a local bank has alerted the Chamber to the issue of counterfeit currency passing though local businesses. According to the statement, it is most often seen with $20 and $50 bills.

The Chamber of Commerce notes that with the summer season in full swing, proprietors should make a note of this and keep an eye out for any suspicious bills.
