Tail Waggin' Tuesday: July 11, 2023 - OBX Today

Are you in search of the perfect fur-ever friend? A new addition to the family, perhaps? OBX Today in partnership with the Outer Banks SPCA is proud to present “Tail Waggin’ Tuesdays.”

Each Tuesday, browse our provided selection of videos and images and follow along as we showcase a variety of pets that are currently awaiting adoption at our local animal shelter.

This week’s featured pets are Oso, Scout, Cowboy, Smash, Gunther, and Brie.

Oso
Oso is about 6 months old and was just surrendered into the SPCA’s care after his previous family’s landlord said they could no longer have him. He is so gentle taking treats, walks great on the leash, and loves other animals. The shelter says they truly don’t know how Oso is still here!

Scout
Scout is about a year old. He was just surrendered into the SPCA’s care last week after his family adopted him from here last year as a puppy. His previous family decided to get another puppy then realized they were too much together so they surrendered Scout. He is still pretty confused and upset about being here but he is so good with other dogs and loves all of the attention he can get. The SPCA says they know Scout deserves more than this and they can’t wait to see that happen for him.

Cowboy

Cowboy is about one-year-old and was transferred into the SPCA’s care from a high kill shelter that did not have enough room to keep him. The shelter says they have loved getting to know Cowboy. He has the biggest personality and loves everyone. He is the star of the show at adoption events and is the best play mate here at the shelter. He keeps the staff laughing all day with his goofy self.

Smash, Gunther, and Brie
Smash, Gunther, and Brie are kittens ranging from 2-3 months old. All three of these cuties have been in the SPCA’s care since they were babies. Smash is the grey male about 3 months old. Gunther is the long haired brown tabby male about 2 months old. Brie is the tabby with orange female about 3 months old. Included are photos of the felines when they were younger as well.

To adopt Oso, Scout, Cowboy, Smash, Gunther, Brie, or any of the other shelter animals, visit the Outer Banks SPCA Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or give them a call at 252-475-5620.
