The Dare County Board of Elections has announced that the candidate filing period for the local Municipal Elections is open from July 7, 2023 until 12 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023. Interested candidates must file at the Dare County Board of Elections Office, which is located at 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive in Manteo.
To be eligible, candidates must:
- Be registered to vote in the municipality they wish to represent
- Have resided in that municipality for at least 30 days
- Be qualified to vote in an election for the office sought
- Be at least 21 years old by the election date
