VIDEO: Young entrepreneurs flourish at the Manteo Downtown Market - OBX Today
Using lemons grown in his very own garden, lemonade maker Warren Bunce is one of the many young entrepreneurs you will spot at the Manteo Downtown Market! (YouTube/Town of Manteo)
Did you know that there are five Manteo High School students, including one 2023 graduate and two Manteo Middle School students, that are vendors at the Manteo Downtown Market? They sell items they make themselves, including jewelry, crochet items, origami, plants, lemonade, and dog treats.

Local young entrepreneurs help build a pipeline to our community’s succession plan. They help to educate families on the existing businesses and the economic development challenges the community faces; deepening the connection and engagement with parents and kids in our community.

There is also a connection created between school learning and the real world. These kids/youth become more motivated to succeed both academically and personally when they see a purpose in what they are learning.

These young local entrepreneurs are building connections between businesses and the families in our community. We couldn’t be more proud of them and their commitment to the Downtown Market each and every Saturday.
Visit the market and support these local youth and the other great vendors this Saturday, July 15th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at George Washington Creef Park in downtown Manteo.
