Dare County Water Department customers on Roanoke Island may experience discolored water following a mechanical issue at the Skyco water plant. This discoloration has no impact on water quality and all water being distributed is safe to consume. The system is currently being flushed and any remaining discolorations will dissipate as they work through the system.
Customers can reach the Dare County Water Department at 252-475-5990 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
