N.C. Attorney General candidate Tom Murry visits Dare County - OBX Today

“It is time to send a Veteran and prosecutor to serve as Attorney General,” said Murry. “I pledge to uphold Constitution and the rule of law to put public safety first.”

Murry spoke to attendees about his experience as a State Prosecutor, legislator, and Judge Advocate (JAG) with the NC National Guard.  He focused his remarks on the fentanyl crisis and election integrity.  Murry also took questions from the audience.

“We have to stop the North Carolina Department of Justice from turning into Department of Politics,” Murry continued.  “I am ready to lead the largest law firm in North Carolina and I’m asking for your vote.”

Murry will be the key note speaker at the Down East Judicial Picnic on September 16 in Plymouth, NC.

Tom Murry is a husband and father, an Army veteran, attorney, and state prosecutor. Tom served nearly a decade in elected office as a councilman and state legislator while he managed a local business. Tom was recognized as a Top 10 Legislator and was the primary sponsor of Voter ID and a regulatory reform bill that eliminated over 1400 regulations.

Tom serves as a Judge Advocate (JAG) in the North Carolina Army National Guard. He deployed to the Middle East in 2017-18. Additionally from 2019-20, Tom served as a full-time legal assistance attorney helping Soldiers and their family members, as well as military retirees with their legal needs.

Tom is also a licensed pharmacist, serves as an adjunct teacher at the Regent University School of Law, and previously served as an executive leader in the NC Judicial Branch.
