A new partnership with the Rotary Clubs of the Outer Banks, Dare to Care, Heart Health Foundation, and College of the Albemarle will bring free vascular screenings to residents of Dare County.
Cardiovascular disease is the #1 health problem in this country today. More than half of all Americans will die from complications of atherosclerosis, the root of cardiovascular disease. Early Detection is the key. If you are age 60 or over; or age 50 or over and have risk factors such as smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol, you are invited to have a free vascular screening.
This examination is a non-invasive ultrasound examination of the carotid arteries in the neck, the aorta in the abdomen, and an evaluation of the circulation in your legs.
Screenings are done in Dare County in association with the local Rotary Clubs. To make an appointment for your free vascular screening, call 410-573-9483 Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.HeartHealthFoundation.org.
