Foley assumes role as Dare County Board of Commissioners clerk - OBX Today

Dare County has announced that Robin “Skyler” Foley has been promoted to serve as clerk to the Dare County Board of Commissioners following the retirement of former clerk to the Dare County Board of Commissioners Cheryl Anby.

Foley—who had served as an administrative assistant in the Dare County Planning Department since January 2023—was officially sworn in to her new position as clerk to the Dare County Board of Commissioners on Monday, August 7, 2023.

“Our board is excited to have a nice, young talent such as Skyler join us and be a part of our board and clerk to us,” said Dare County Board of Commissioners Chairman Bob Woodard following Foley’s swearing in ceremony. “We look forward to working with her, and we certainly know she’ll do a great job.”

Foley was initially hired by Dare County to serve as an administrative specialist for General Services in November 2021 and was promoted in January 2023 to the position of administrative assistant in the Dare County Planning Department.

In her new role as clerk to the Dare County Board of Commissioners, Foley is tasked with preparing and maintaining official Dare County records, files, agendas and minutes; preparing agendas and associated information packages for the Dare County Board of Commissioners; preparing accurate minutes; following up on agenda items and actions; serving as custodian of official records and the Dare County seal; publishing public notices; performing a variety of administrative duties for the chairman of the Dare County Board of Commissioners and board members; certifying legal documents on behalf of the county; and managing the board’s departmental budget, among many other responsibilities.
