Heat indices of 105 to 115 degrees expected through Tuesday; Heat advisory in effect - OBX Today

Well above normal temperatures will combine with a very humid airmass to produce dangerous heat and humidity across all of Eastern North Carolina over the next few days, says a Sunday report from the National Weather Service (NOAA). A multi-day period of dangerous heat is expected across all of Eastern North Carolina through Tuesday, with heat indices of 105 to 115 degrees expected.

The NOAA notes that confidence in dangerous heat impacting Eastern NC through Tuesday is extremely high, with more than an eighty-percent chance.

A heat advisory is in effect from 11:00 am to 8:00 p.m. today, Sunday, August 13, 2023 with additional heat headlines are expected Monday and Tuesday from the NOAA.
