Open Fiber started work in the northern part of town in mid-June and is continuing south to the Town of Kill Devil Hills. They are installing conduit and cable within the town rights-of-way.
There may be times when they will be working adjacent to your property line. Please be patient and courteous to workers in or near the roadways. There will be ground disturbance and the contractor will repair these areas and leave it as close as possible to the condition it was in prior to the work being done.

According to their website, Open Fiber is a fiber infrastructure platform providing internet users with access to next-generation technologies. Once installation is complete, Open Fiber will be able to deliver “fiber” Gigabit Internet services to all residences within their new territories. They are committed to ensuring all infrastructure is constructed “underground” and to restoring disturbed areas following construction.
