The Coastal Humane Society will hold its first Fall 2023 pet vaccination clinic this Sunday, September 17th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of Good Dog Retreat in Manteo. The Clinic Veterinarian is Dr. Mary Burkart from Roanoke Island Animal Hospital.
No appointments are needed. Payment must be by cash or check. Our Clinics are popular so families should be prepared to wait. It is first come, first served.
The vaccination package for dogs includes rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines for a total of $31. The package for cats includes rabies and FVRCP vaccines for $18. Vaccines are priced individually so families can choose whether they want the package for their pets or just some vaccines.
The Coastal Humane Society has a partnership with the Outer Banks Community Foundation that provides for dogs to receive a free heartworm test during this Clinic. Heartworm testing and prevention are important on the Outer Banks. Heartworm disease can kill, and treatment is expensive. Annual testing and monthly prevention are the best way to protect our canine family members.
Families must bring their dogs to the Clinic on leashes and their cats in carriers.
