Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners urge residents to contact state legislators regarding affordable housing - OBX Today

Legislation has been included in the North Carolina budget that would allow any affordable housing development funded by Dare County to be exempt from any town’s planning and zoning regulations. This means that for ONLY towns in Dare County, there would be no control of the height, size, density, setbacks, etc. of affordable housing projects, even if they are developed in a town’s city limits.

Your Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners is reaching out to our state legislators, asking them to remove or repeal section 24.8 of the 2023 Appropriations Bill. Please join them, as soon as possible, in contacting your representatives:
