Tail Waggin' Tuesday: October 10, 2023 - OBX Today

Are you in search of the perfect fur-ever friend? A new addition to the family, perhaps? OBX Today in partnership with the Outer Banks SPCA is proud to present “Tail Waggin’ Tuesdays.”

Each Tuesday, browse our provided selection of videos and images and follow along as we showcase a variety of pets that are currently awaiting adoption at our local animal shelter.

This week’s featured pets are Nala, Met, Doodle, and Billy Bob. Verbiage is provided by shelter manager Leann Saunders:

Nala
Nala is a 8 month old Belgian mix who was surrendered into our care because her family could not afford to keep her. Nala was originally bought off of Facebook Marketplace and later they found out she was born with a defect in her front right paw that needed surgery. After a few months of medications and x-rays they were referred to a specialist and realized it was out of their price range. They knew coming here was the best thing for Nala and we are glad to have her here and be able to help. Although with her breed she does not  like the kennel very much, she is house trained, loves attention, and knows basic commands. We are looking for a foster family for Nala so we can continue her treatment and she does not have to be at the shelter.

Met
Met is about 8 weeks old and was brought into our care last week with the rest of his litter. All of his siblings have been adopted and we are hoping he is next! Met is a Border Collie/ Hound mix and will be about 55 pounds when fully grown.

Doodle
Doodle is about 5 years old and was brought into our care from another shelter. She is super sweet and loves getting attention, Doodle loves giving head bumps and having her belly rubbed!

Billy Bob
Billy Bob is about 5 months old. Billy Bob was found outdoors in Kitty Hawk, when he arrived here he was very hissy and fearful but after some much needed attention and being worked with he has come around! Billy Bob is EXTREMELY playful and loves balls to bat around and string toys, fast movements still scare him but slow and steady is the way to this little cutie’s heart (and toys). Come by and meet Billy Bob today!

To adopt Nala, Met, Doodle, Billy Bob, or any of the other shelter animals, visit the Outer Banks SPCA Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or give them a call at 252-475-5620.
