Fred Smith will be working on locating existing utilities and facilitating traffic control.  Work is scheduled to occur Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please be mindful of construction workers and traffic alerts in the area as lane closures will occur as part of the daily construction process.

Additionally, beginning after January 1, 2024, Fred Smith will transition a 24-hour, 5-day work week (Sunday evening through Friday evening). This accelerated schedule aims to complete the roadway construction portion of the Living Shoreline and Resiliency Project. Single lane closures will occur during this time. The Town has addressed concerns regarding lighting and noise impacts with Fred Smith. They will be using directional lights pointed westward over the Currituck Sound, reducing light pollution affecting nearby residents. Additionally, Fred Smith has committed to the implementation of noise mitigation strategies.
