Please be mindful that flooding is currently occurring on portions of Queen Elizabeth Avenue in downtown Manteo, including the entrance to the boat ramp where it intersects with Ananias Dare Street.
Please take steps to protect yourself and your property, including moving vehicles out of flood-prone areas and securing trash containers and other items. Remember, if you encounter flood waters, turn around, don’t drown. The Town of Manteo has an ordinance that prohibits driving on flooded streets, which also carries a fine.
The west wind that drives the flooding in downtown Manteo is forecasted to continue throughout the day. Please stay safe and out of any flooded areas.
