On Friday, February 9, Deputy Police Chief Missy Clark, Sergeant Tim Armstrong, Corporal John Gilreath, and Corporal Justin Naquin volunteered as escorts for the 2024 Night to Shine event held at the Outer Banks YMCA.

A Night to Shine is more than just a prom – it’s an evening celebrating individuals with special needs, ages 14 and older. This global event, hosted by churches around the world, offers a night filled with red carpets, limos, dancing, joy, and more fun than you can imagine!

Deputy Chief Clark looks forward to this event each year. She says “A big shout out to Church of the Outer Banks for hosting the 2024 ‘Night to Shine’. There is nothing better than seeing this community light it up walking across the Red Carpet, dressed to the nines!! Thank you for including Duck Police Department as escorts. You showed us all how to shine a little brighter!!”
