Tonight, March 21, 2024, at 7 p.m., join the Town of Duck for the first Bias Speaker Series of the season as Dr. Michael Cline, the State Demographer for North Carolina, will provide an overview of recent demographic trends occurring in the state and in northeast North Carolina.
He will highlight diverging trends in population change for the inner and outer banks and how an aging and more racially/ethnically diverse population will bring both opportunities and challenges to the provision of services, development of businesses, and support of infrastructure in the region and in the state. He will show how these trends are likely to play out over the next thirty years.
The presentation will take place in the Paul F. Keller Meeting Hall located at 1200 Duck Road. A light reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Bias Speaker Series is supported by the John H. & Frances Lane Bias Foundation, Inc. (The Bias Foundation), in collaboration with the Town of Duck. All events are free and open to the public.
