The Outer Banks have been named one of the 8 Best Places to Live in North Carolina by popular travel outlet Travel & Leisure.
Proclaimed as one of the fastest-growing states in the nation, including one of the best for conducting business, the Tarheel State’s population has seen a dramatic influx in recent years with several hidden big cities and small towns that are beckoning families from near and far.
Described by the outlet as “a popular vacation destination, which encompasses several small towns,” Travel & Leisure designates the entirety of the barrier islands the #5 spot, emphasizing it’s family-friendly ambiance that is perfect to live year-round.
With local insight offered by realtor Lynn Sherman of Howard Hanna Outer Banks Realty, among two of its highlights include the town of Duck and oceanside in Kitty Hawk. With the COVID-19-led buying frenzy having subsided, Sherman adds that now is a great time to buy property at the beach.
The Outer Banks is joined by Chapel Hill, Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Durham, Wilmington, Asheville, and Charlotte.
