In celebration of Wawa Hoagie Day on Thursday, June 27, Wawa will be donating 50 hoagies to local Veterans. The hoagies will be distributed on a first come, first served basis by the Dare County Veterans Advisory Council at the Baum Center, located at 300 Mustain Street in Kill Devil Hills. Those coming out for the event are asked not to arrive until 11 a.m. in order to allow time for organizers to set up.

“We are so grateful that Wawa is celebrating local Veterans today with free hoagies, and we look forward to seeing everyone on June 27 for some hoagies and fellowship,” said Patty O’Sullivan, Veterans Services Officer for the Dare County Department of Health & Human Services.

Wawa opened its Kill Devil Hills store on May 16, making it the first Wawa to open in North Carolina. This year’s Hoagie Day marks 30 years in which Wawa stores nationwide recognize local heroes on this special day by donating hoagies in their respective communities.
