Kitty Hawk Kites and the Outer Banks Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety Coalition are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in their mission to help facilitate the education and awareness of practical bicycle and pedestrian safety to drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and all those who live or visit the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
During the annual Watermelon Festival held on August 1, 2024, at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing, they successfully raised $3,890.
The Watermelon Festival drew a crowd of over 200+ attendees, who came together to support their efforts through various watermelon themed activities.
Highlights of the event included the North Carolina Watermelon Queen, Haylee Davis, in attendance, watermelon arts & crafts, Lost Colony face painting, Food Lion tie dye, and more! A special $1,000 donation from Food Lion was also recognized.
Kitty Hawk Kites and Outer Banks Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety Coalition would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who made this event a success. Special thanks go to Food Lion, Lost Colony, and Outer Banks Womens Club for their generous support.
