The Dare County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the successful recovery of stolen property and the arrest of multiple suspects involved in the breaking and entering that occurred on August 8, 2024, at the Dare Storage Unit in Skyco, NC, where numerous boating items were taken totaling approximately $10,000.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, all items taken in the incident have been recovered and returned to the rightful owner. The following individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with this case:
Barney E. Midgette, 56, Wanchese, NC, has been charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny. Midgette has been issued a $2,000 secured bond.
Jeremey L. Gabbard, 48, Wanchese, NC, has been charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny. Gabbard has been issued a $6,000 secured bond.
Raymond V. Thomas, 44, Wanchese, NC, has been charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen property. Thomas has been issued a $25,000 secured bond.
Amanda J. Wells, 37, Wanchese, NC, has been charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen property. Wells has been issued a $2,000 secured bond.
