This documentary illustrates the journey through the origins of the Winged Horse Extravaganza, a project launched in 2002 to commemorate the 2003 Centennial of Flight in Kitty Hawk, its transformative impact on the community, and the unwavering dedication to preserving this beloved symbol of the Outer Banks and Outer Banks history.
Following the premiere, witness the grand unveiling of a magnificent new winged horse statue in the Duck Town Park. The Winged Horse Extravaganza was a project initiated by The Outer Banks Press in 2002 featuring 99 life-size fiberglass horses adorned with aluminum aircraft wings. The horses were sponsored by individuals and businesses who commissioned artists to create one-of-a-kind designs and can be found around various locations in Dare County.
