On Sunday, September 8, at 10:30 a.m., retired Battalion Chief Robert (Bob) Gray will be in attendance at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Outer Banks in Kitty Hawk for an honorary service talk and official launch of his new book, “Shoring Up Ourselves: An Inspirational Story of Never Giving Up.”
Chief Gray fought the fire and recovered bodies from the Pentagon after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and later recovered from a brain injury that left him partially paralyzed. Gray has devoted his post-retirement life to helping first responders thrive through adversity.
Ahead of the twenty-third anniversary of the tragic events that unfolded on September 11, 2001, please make arrangements to attend for an uplifting evening.
Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Outer Banks is located at 831 Herbert Perry Road.
