CYP to celebrate 30th birthday next week - OBX Today
Dowdy Park. (nagsheadnc.gov)

In September of 1994, following the 2nd State of the Child Conference, Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County (CYP) was established, meeting a need that the community saw for a community organization serving children, youth, and families.

Since that time, CYP has continued to fulfill its mission of connecting all children, adolescents, and families with programs and partnership to ensure they have what they need to thrive. They have done this through programs such as Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the Triple P- Positive Parenting Program, Child Care Resource & Referral, Child Care Start-Up Assistance, BabyLINKS, KidsFest, Block Play Extravaganza, the Soundside FunFair, and so much more!

As a way of celebrating its landmark 30th birthday, CYP is excited to be inviting the community to a birthday party at Dowdy Park on September 21 from 3:00pm-5:00pm.

During the celebration, families and friends can expect yard games, music (including the interactive tunes of Nature Out Loud), snowballs from Island Snowball Co., a scavenger hunt, and cake (while supplies last)! Nags Head Fire Department will be on-site with their fire truck, and will be performing courtesy car seat safety checks for anyone who may be interested.

Raffle tickets will be available on-site for $1.00 each for some amazing family-friendly raffle basket prizes. All donations received through raffle ticket sales will support the Children & Youth Partnership Endowment Fund through the Outer Banks Community Foundation.
