In 2024 Outer Banks-based Master Heating & Cooling partnered with The LII Lennox Foundation to give back to a deserving Dare County resident. In the Lennox Feel the Love program for local heroes, Outer Banks residents were asked to nominate a deserving citizen who could use a new heating and cooling system. In this program, The LII Lennox Foundation donates heating or cooling equipment to the local household in need, and Master Heating & Cooling installs it for free.

The 2024 Outer Banks Lennox Feel the Love winner is Nags Head resident Karen Brown. On Monday, October 7, Master Heating & Cooling install an air conditioner free of charge at Brown’s home on Old Oregon Inlet Road.

Brown is well known in this community as a former assistant teacher at Nags Head Elementary School and a former preschool teacher at St. Andrew’s By the Sea Episcopal Church. She opened Street Smart Driving School, Outer Banks’ first private driving school, in 2020 and continues to prepare Dare County’s teens to be comfortable and confident on the road. Brown had a recent HVAC system breakdown and needed help with her system, and a friend nominated her for the program.

Over the past 15 years, Lennox and its dealers have supported deserving community members by completing more than 2,300 free HVAC installations. As most homeowners spend more time inside their home, Lennox continues to advocate for the importance of indoor air quality and the accessibility of clean, comfortable air for all.
