NOAA reports minor to moderate coastal flooding through Monday - OBX Today

The National Weather Service (NOAA) has reported that higher than normal tides expected over the next few days, followed by increasing swell early next week will produce several days of coastal flooding along the Outer Banks. A coastal flood advisory is now in effect for all of the area.

The NOAA states that high tides will be around 11 a.m. on Saturday, with the highest impact being Sunday at noon. Lingering issues may also last into Monday,

Minor to locally moderate coastal flooding expected for Oceanside areas impacting Highway 12. Localized ocean overwash expected at known vulnerable spots including north end of Ocracoke Island, north end of Buxton (near Outer Banks Motel), and Pea Island Visitor Center. Minor coastal flooding along Pamlico Sound is also forecast.
