Traffic stop leads to arrest of a Virginia resident on Friday - OBX Today

At approximately 7:53 p.m. on October 4, 2024, deputies from the A-District of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Colington Road near Colington Pointe Drive, Colington, NC.

During the stop, probable cause was established to search the vehicle which led to the discovery and seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and marijuana paraphernalia.

John W. Brown IV, M/39, of Lynchburg, VA, was arrested at the scene. Brown has been charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine and Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Marijuana paraphernalia, Drug Paraphernalia and Fictitious Tags.

Brown was issued a $10,000 secured bond related to these charges.
