Drug arrest made after traffic stop in Avon - OBX Today

On October 21, 2024, at approximately 11:15 p.m., deputies from the C-District conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of NC Hwy 12 and Ramp 34 in Avon, NC. During the stop it was determined that a passenger in the vehicle had an out of county warrant for their arrest. During a search of the vehicle, drug paraphernalia was located and seized. The passenger who had been arrested and placed in the patrol vehicle was removed from the back seat for a more thorough search. When they were removed, an amount of Methamphetamine was located and seized.

The individual, identified as Annie M. Cleaver, 28, of Frisco has been arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and served with the Misdemeanor Failure to Appear Warrant out of Camden, NC. Cleaver was issued a $500 secured bond for the warrant and placed on a hold for the Felony Possession of Methamphetamine charge.
