Mark your calendars for an unforgettable evening on December the 6th as the 31st Annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting celebration returns! Join us for a festive night filled with family fun, lights, and music as we celebrate the holiday season. Parade viewing will be available throughout the Currituck Community Park in Barco, but the Tree Lighting and Cookies and Cocoa will take place at the Currituck Extension Center at 120 Community Way.
Official Festivities Begin at 6:00 PM
The evening officially kicks off with the always popular Reindeer Games at 6:00 PM. Families and kids can enjoy holiday-themed activities, visit the food trucks, and warm up with cookies and cocoa to get in the spirit of the season. (If you wish to visit with Santa, we hear he will be visiting the YMCA starting at 5pm!)
At 6:50 PM, gather around for the grand tree lighting ceremony in the courtyard between the Currituck Extension Center and the YMCA. Watch as the beautiful lights bring our holiday tree to life, setting the stage for the evening’s main event: the holiday parade.
Parade Begins at 7:00 PM
The excitement continues as the holiday parade begins at 7:00 PM. Enjoy a lineup of festive floats, colorful costumes, lively music, and dazzling lights as we kick off the holiday season together. This year’s parade theme is “Christmas Around the World”. The Currituck Family YMCA is graciously offering a sensory friendly viewing area, available by reservation, by emailing nambrose@ymcashr.org. The event will also be livestreamed for viewing from home at go.ncsu.edu/ctuckparade.
