A Holiday edition of the original Outer Banks book fair for grownups is coming to Waveriders, 3022 S Croatan Highway in Nags Head, on Tuesday, November 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In addition to festive food and drink specials, shoppers will find gifts for everyone on their list- books for true crime junkies, fantasy fanatics and romance lovers; books that will keep you up at night and books to read by the fire; Christmas titles, calendars, stickers, Dirty Santa/White Elephant ideas and, of course, the latest Blind Date Books from the staff at Downtown Books. The legendary Books and Brews raffles will be back and elves from the Outer Banks Women’s Club will be on hand to wrap your presents on the spot (donations suggested!) making this a true one-stop-sip-and-shop!
Ten percent of book fair sales will be donated to BINC- the Book Industry Charitable Foundation which helps bookstores and booksellers with unforeseen emergency financial, medical and mental health needs. BINC has been a great help to bookstores in western NC and FL who are recovering from the recent hurricanes and, according to Downtown Books owner Jamie Anderson, came to her assistance after Tropical Cyclone Michael in 2018.
